Joshua Bell performance to be featured on ‘America’s Music Festivals’

I’ve wanted to see violinist Joshua Bell perform for years but always seem to be just behind the eight-ball when it comes to getting tickets.

Joshua Bell joined the Jacobs faculty in 2007.

But while I wait for the day I’ll see him live, I enjoy listening to Bell on CD, video or online whenever I get the chance.

His performance at last year’s Jacobs School of Music summer festival will be featured on “America’s Music Festivals,” a 26-week radio series that features live concert performances from music festivals throughout North America.

In the recording, Bell performs Bruch’s “Scottish Fantasy” with the Festival Orchestra conducted by Michael Stern.

Want to listen? Bloomington’s WFIU public radio station will air the program at 8 p.m. Monday, July 2.
