Free yoga? Yes, please!

Over delicious Indian food the other day, a friend and I were discussing the difficulties of finding a good workout class and commiserating about our multiple, little-used exercise DVDs gathering dust about the house. (True confession: I found one just the other day that was still shrink-wrapped.)

Then, she lit up while telling me about the newest thing she’s been doing: free yoga in the IU Art Museum atrium on Saturday mornings.

Classes are from 11 a.m. to noon, and run through Oct. 27. Beginner-level classes are held on the first and third Saturdays of each month, while classes for more experienced participants are offered on the second and fourth Saturdays. Free parking is available in the Wells Library lot.

Taught by instructors from Lynda Mitchell Yoga Studio and Vibe Yoga Studio, the classes are sponsored by Orthopedics of Southern Indiana, IU Health Southern Indiana Physicians.

I’m definitely checking these classes out. I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning than clearing my mind through exercise in a beautiful, art-filled space.
