IU community comes together for annual Nuestras Raíces

Post courtesy of IU newsroom intern Sheila Raghavendran:

Indiana University Bloomington students and community members recently came together to share stories, poems and memories at the Latino Cultural Center, La Casa. This annual event, called Nuestras Raíces, which means “our roots,” is part of Hispanic Heritage Month and is a time for IU’s Latino community to connect through personal experiences.

Center director Lillian Casillas and event organizer Willy Palomo, a second-year MFA in poetry student, speak to the importance of these events for fostering strong, lasting relationships with each other.
